WWE NXT Highlights, Grade 2nd April 2020 – Keith Lee Retains the North American Championship and much more

WWE NXT held 3 days before Wrestlemania here in WWE Performance centre here in Florida.

Main Segments Tonight

  • Keith Lee put his North American Championship on the line against Dominik Dijakovic and Damian Priest, and The Velveteen Dream battled Bobby Fish of The Undisputed Era.
  • Second Gauntlet match for the remaining spot in the No. 1 Contender’s ladder suit with Kayden Carter, Shotzi Blackheart, Xia Li, Aliyah, Deonna Purrazzo and Dakota Kai. 
Match No.1: The Velveteen Dream vs Bobby Fish

Dream used to be the first one to turn up the heat with a sequence of strikes. Fish prevented the Purple Rainmaker by means of rolling out of the ring. He took manipulate as the show reduce to a commercial and dominated the fit till the 2d break. Fish tried an ankle lock and a sleeper hold, but his opponent would not go down barring a fight. The dream turned the tables and hit the Dream Valley Driver for the win.

Match No.2: Jake Atlas vs Dexter Lumis

Neither man has had good deal publicity to the NXT Universe, so this was a special opportunity for both of them. Lumis took manage proper away however Atlas hit a few strikes at distinct points. Eventually, the unblinking Lumis completed him off with a submission.

Match No.3: Gauntlet Match

The Gauntlet suit started with Blackheart and Purrazzo as the first two participants. The Virtuosa took it to the green-haired grappler right away with a series of close to falls, however Blackheart ended up getting the win with a senton.

Li used to be her next opponent and she used to be searching to make up for missing her fit final week after being mysteriously attacked backstage. Blackheart managed to overcome her to strengthen and face Aliyah.

They ended up buying and selling near falls for the duration of a heated exchange. She used the same submission she used on Li to eradicated Aliyah and pass on to Carter.

Shortly after the break, Blackheart used her trademark senton to put away her fourth opponent. Kai used to be the remaining participant and her bodyguard was right there at ringside to help. The New Zealander was once able to eventually put down Blackheart with the Kota Kick to strengthen to the No. 1 Contender’s Ladder match.

Match No.4:  Kushida vs Joaquin Wilde

Joaquin Wilde and Kushida had been out after the spoil for the subsequent match. Both of these guys made names for themselves earlier than coming to WWE but they are basically beginning from scratch. Both of them prefer to construct momentum so they can probably earn a title shot down the line. Kushida is arguably the larger superstar and has had more time to function for the NXT Universe, so he was once the favourite when this suit began.

They worked a technical style early on with a lot of holds and counters. They picked up the tempo after the break to make matters extra competitive. Kushida put Wilde away with an armbar but additionally showed his opponent appreciate after the bell through offering a handshake. Wilde regularly occurring whilst they exchanged a few insults.

Match No.5: North American Championship – Damien Priest vs Dominic Dijalovic vs Keith Lee

The predominant match of the night featured a fit we possibly would have seen at NXT TakeOver. Lee defended his North American title in opposition to Priest and Dijakovic in a matchup of powerhouses. This was just as physical as you would expect. There were big slams, stiff strikes and surprising high-flying spots from all three Superstars.

At one point, Lee used Priest’s body as a weapon to beat down Dijakovic before he powerbombed Priest for a close to fall. It was as hilarious as it sounds. Priest was able to use his nightstick in opposition to Dijakovic however Lee propelled him out of the ring and took advantage of the state of affairs by means of pinning Dijakovic for the win.
